Sunday Black Out in Liberty LIBERTY, July 12, 2010 – Around midday Sunday a city wide black out occurred in Liberty that lasted about 48 minutes according to Liberty City Manager Gary Broz. The cause of the black out was a malfunctioning transformer that kicked off and would not reset. Employing another transformer to serve the city solved the problem temporarily. According to City Manager Broz, the malfunctioning transformer was just serviced about one month ago and there is currently no explanation as to the cause of its’ malfunction. Technicians are coming this afternoon or early tomorrow to investigate the problem with the transformer and determine what is necessary to fix it. During Sunday’s outage there was no electricity in the entire city as a result of the malfunction according to City Manager Broz.
