Black Friday is Truly Black in Liberty LIBERTY, November 26, 2010 – For the second time today a widespread power outage occurred in Liberty. The Liberty Police Department told i-dineout.com that the outage started around 8:00 PM on Friday night. At this time this reporter was returning from Baytown and a neighbor called on the cell phone to ask if I knew what was causing the power outage. I explained that I was not in town at the present time. Returning to Liberty I crossed the Trinity River bridge on US 90 and looked all the way down Highway 90 which it usually brightly lighted at night with all the businesses on each side of the highway. Tonight it was completely black. So different than normal. This evening power outage is similar to the one earlier in the day in that the outage was very widespread throughout the entire town. The outage lasted for about thirty minutes.
