Friends of Anahuac Refuge to Sponsor NEW Monthly Birding Tours

ANAHUAC, September 29, 2010 - The Friends of Anahuac Refuge will be sponsoring NEW monthly Birding Tours on Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, which will begin October 21, 2010. All tours are Thursdays and Saturdays (except Christmas Day), 9a.m. to 11a.m., so call or email ahead of time to reserve your spot! On these tours you can learn all about birds, history, and management practices on the refuge. All tours are appropriate for ages 10 years and up and the tours are led by knowledgeable guides. You can ride in one of our vehicles or you are welcome to bring your own, however, there is a limit of 6 vehicles per tour. There are frequent stops made to view wildlife, and you are welcome to borrow binoculars and field guides to make your tour more enjoyable.

All tours will meet on the main portion of Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge at the Visitor Information Station. Tours will begin at 9a.m. and you are encouraged to bring sunblock, long sleeves, pants, hats, insect repellent, and plenty of water to keep you hydrated.
