Motorcycle Hits Deer, Riders Injured RAYWOOD, October 16, 2010 - Around 4:00 PM on Saturday member of the Beaumont and Deer Park Free Masons Riding Club were riding westbound on US 90 between Raywood and Ames on US 90. There were about 5 large bikes taking part in the ride. According to DPS Trooper Nate Godfrey a deer crossed US 90 from north to south and then turned around and ran into the path of one of the motorcycles.
The motorcycle collided with the deer killing the deer and injuring a husband and wife rider and passenger on the bike.
The driver of the bike was Michael Gunter age 31 and his passenger was his wife Kayse Gunter age 26 both of Beaumont.
They both were wearing helmets that sustained serious damage in the accident as did the motorcycle. Both were transported by Liberty County EMS to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center in Liberty for treatment of their injuries.
