Crash on Layl Drive, Liberty

LIBERTY, February 16, 2010 - Tuesday afternoon around 2:55 PM a northbound Lincoln Navigator on Layl’s Drive left the roadway to the right and struck a pine tree.

According to Officer Josh Cummins of the City of Liberty Police Department, Christopher Bartell age 30 of Liberty, driving the Navigator, possibly suffered a seizure leaving the roadway.

City of Liberty EMS Responded to the scene and prepared Bartell for flight. Life Flight landed and transported him to Houston’s Hermann Hospital.

Officer Cummins stated the Bartell seemed to be in daze and was somewhat unresponsive after the accident.

It is thought the vehicle Bartell was driving was a total loss.

The vehicle was insured.

The accident was most likely caused by Bartell’s medical condition and no citations were issued in the accident.

Christopher Bartell had a major accident on US 90 in March of 2007.
