Accident US 90 at Alabama Street

LIBERTY, November 25, 2010 - An accident occurred on US 90 at Alabama Street in Liberty at 1:21 PM on Wednesday.

A white Mitsubishi Mirage was traveling west on US 90 and first attempted a right turn onto Alabama Street, then decided to continue west on US 90 and pull into the center lane of US 90. In the process it collided with a white, Pontiac Sunfire sending the Sunfire over the curb and crashing to a building.

The driver of the Mirage was Timothy Haney age 18 of Liberty. The vehicle was carrying two passengers who were not injured.

The driver of the Sunfire was Bobby Eugene Gressett age 52 of Liberty. His vehicle had one passenger, Allen Hargrove of Liberty who was not injured.

None of the occupants or drivers of the vehicles required transport by responding City of Liberty Ambulance.

Timothy Haney received a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way and Bobby Gressett received a citation for river While License Expired.

Both vehicles were insured.

Officer Wes O’Hanlon of the City of Liberty Police Department investigated the accident.
