Accident US 90 at FM 1413

DAYTON, January 18, 2010 – A two-vehicle accident occurred on US 90 at FM 1413 when a gray Jeep traveling north on FM 1413 disregarded the stop sign at US 90 and drove into the path of Toyota Camry traveling east on US 90.

The Dayton Volunteer fire Department responded to the scene to manage traffic control and assist EMS with the accident victims. There were a total of 7 children involved in the accident. Three were in the Jeep and four were in the Camry along with the drivers of both vehicles.

The Jeep was driven by Sandra Elvira age 32 of Houston and the Toyota was driven by a 56 year old woman from Channelview.

Liberty County EMS responded with two EMS units to check out all the potential victims.

Only one person was transported to East Houston Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

According to Officer Eric Ibarra of the Dayton Police Department both vehicles were insured and citations in the accident are a matter of the continuing investigation by the department.

The accident occurred at 8:20 PM Monday.
