100 Club Requests Donations to “Survivor’s Fund”
HOUSTON, October 26, 2010 - The 100 Club announced today that donations are being accepted to its “Survivor’s Fund” which provides benefits to the dependents of peace officers and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty.
Deputy Odell McDuffie, 43, died in the line of duty on Tuesday afternoon, October 25, 2010, after his patrol car left the highway, hit a tree and then caught fire. Rescue attempts were not successful and the Deputy died at the scene. Deputy McDuffie had been a Deputy with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office for seventeen years. He is survived by his wife, Emily and three children.
A $10,000 check will be given to Deputy McDuffie’s family to assist with any needs they may have. Additional financial support for the family will be provided, after a review is made by the Club, to include current financial and children’s educational needs.

The 100 Club’s 30,000 members, located in eighteen counties surrounding Houston, work together for the purpose of aiding dependents of officers and firefighters by responding to their needs. We invite the community to participate.
