Judge Taylor Recuses Himself from 5 Dismissed Cases

LIBERTY, April 18, 2008 - In an interview with Liberty County Court at Law Judge Don Taylor on Saturday, i-dineout.com has learned and Judge Taylor recused himself of any involvement in the five criminal cases dismissed on December 13, 2008 by Liberty County Judge Phil Fitzgerald a few weeks ago.

Judge Taylor had earlier voided the dismissals placing the cases back on the court’s docket.

The cases according to Judge Taylor have been handed over to Judge Olen Underwood, regional administrative judge for the second judicial district of Texas. Underwood has assigned the cases to Judge Patrice McDonald of Conroe.

McDonald will hear preliminary motions in the cases at 9:30 AM Friday, April 24 in the Liberty County Court at Law.
