Murders Increase in 2009

LIBERTY, December 27, 2009 - The City of Liberty on average has less than one murder per year. However, this year there have been two murders in the city.

The first was on July 4, 2009 in the 500 Block of Missouri Street where a group of Hispanic men had gathered for a party.

The second was at the Ridgewood Grocery on North Main Street on Christmas Day where a man allegedly robbed the store and killed the owner.

Hopefully 2009 has been an uncommon year and this type of violent crime will not continue in 2010.
