Motel Stabbing in Liberty
LIBERTY, December 15, 2009 - Liberty Police Department officers were called to the Inn at Liberty in the 1500 block of U.S. 90 early Sunday morning for a reported disturbance. |
The desk clerk called when she saw a male and female arguing in the parking lot by the front office. When officers Frank Longoria and Jennifer Bowles arrived, they found the situation to be much more serious than the initial report.
The officers’ scene investigation determined there had been an argument between Charnell Davie, 32, and Kelvin Dixon, 39. Davie, a desk clerk for the motel, and Dixon, her boyfriend, both lived on the motel premises. It was during the argument that Charnell Davie allegedly stabbed Kelvin Dixon with a kitchen knife.
Kelvin Dixon had a puncture wound to the left side of his torso. He was transported by Liberty EMS ambulance to Ben Taub hospital in Houston. As of Tuseday morning, his condition was listed as critical, but stable.
Charnell Davie was arrested at the scene. She was booked-in to the Liberty County Jail for the offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Her bond is set at $7,500. The case is still under investigation by LPD Lieutenant Kenneth Taylor.
