Drugs Seized at Dayton Residence

DAYTON, October 30, 2009 - According to Steve Greene of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, members of his department, assisted by Dayton PD and DPS, executed a search warrant at 154 CR 6022 in Dayton.

The warrant was issued based on intelligence gained from undercover operations of the Special Crimes and Narcotics Unit as well as the Criminal Investigations Division of the Liberty County Sheriff's Department.

The search yielded hundreds of pills including hydrocodone and xanax that were recovered from the scene as well as methamphetamine, firearms, and narcotics related paraphernalia.

Also discovered during the search were many items believed to have been stolen from the Dayton area including lawn mowers, jewelry and tools.

Living in the mobile home was a 62 year old white male identified as Oscar Dale Burch, who subsequently was sent to the hospital after complaints of being ill. A warrant for his arrest will be forthcoming.

According to Greene, three other individuals from the Dayton area were also in the residence. Their names are being withheld at this time due to possible pending charges.
