Tractor Stolen from Eastex Farm & Home

LIBERTY, October 16, 2009 - The Liberty Police Department is investigating the theft of a tractor from Foster’s Eastex Farm & Home, in the 2200 block of Highway 90 in Liberty. The theft occurred sometime between the night of Wednesday the 14th and Thursday morning. A lock was cut on an entrance gate, allowing the suspect(s) access to the property.

Sergeant David Hunter was the initial investigator for the theft. The tractor, a John Deere 3520, is a smaller model, but is unique in that it has a fully enclosed cab that is normally found on larger tractors. It also has a front-end loader. The value of the tractor was listed at $35,000.

The stolen tractor is very similar to the one in the photo above

“The tractor is unique in its size and setup," said Sgt. Hunter. "We know people in the farming and agriculture communities would be the first to notice an implement of this type, especially if doesn’t quite fit with the person that has it.”

Anybody with information on the stolen John Deere tractor can contact the Liberty Police Department at 936-336-5666.
