Church Goers Beware LIBERTY, December 20, 2009 – Officer Hugh Bishop of the City of Liberty Police Department informed i-dineout.com that during church services Sunday morning there were three auto burglaries in the City of Liberty and two in Liberty County at local churches. Taken in these auto burglaries this morning were women’s purses and an X Box Game Console. Vehicles suffered broken windows in at least one case. The Church parking lots that were the target of thieves this morning were, Liberty Church of Christ, Cornerstone Church, First Baptist Church in Liberty. In the County, Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames and Eagles Heights Church on SH 146 south of Dayton were also victims. Investigators for the City of Liberty Police Department were Officer Jeanne Marie Birdwell and Officer Mike Baker. One witness described two possible suspects in the case as a white male and possibly and black male driving a blue Chevy Trailblazer with California license plates. Officers throughout the county were placed on alert looking for the vehicle all Sunday afternoon.
