Health Care Gutted EDITORIAL
WASHINGTON, December 17, 2009 - After nearly a year's work, lobbyists in Washington working with Repubicans in the Senate have nearly gutted the health care plan. They have removed the option for people to buy into Medicare at age 55 at the request of lobbyists representing Doctors and Hospitals because they would not be able to charge Medicare as much for their services as they would private individuals.
Lobbyists for the pharmaceutical industry have successfully prevented the importation of low cost prescription dugs for the average person so that they can persevere massive profits.
With the subsidies now in Health Care Legislation to individuals many more will be able to purchase insurance from existing insurance companies guaranteeing them a windfall profit and there is no public option to compete against them in the Senate version of the bill in order to control costs.
The Health Care bill has been gutted to insure even more obscene profits for Doctors, Hospitals, Insurance Companies and the Pharmaceutical Industry.
The Borowitz report puts it in this humorous and satirical way in their report of what rights you will have under the new plan titled, “Details of Healthcare Plan Revealed.”
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) - The United States Senate today unveiled details of its health care plan, tentatively called CompromiseCareTM:
1. Under CompromiseCareTM, people with no coverage will be allowed to
keep their current plan.2. Medicare will be extended to 55-year-olds as soon as they turn 65.
3. You will have access to cheap Canadian drugs if you live in Canada.
4. States whose names contain vowels will be allowed to opt out of the
plan.5. You get to choose which doctor you cannot afford to see.
6. You will not have to be pre-certified to qualify for cremation.
7. A patient will be considered "pre-existing" if he or she already exists.
8. You'll be free to choose between medications and heating fuel.
9. Patients can access quality health care if they can prove their name
is "Lieberman."10. You will have access to natural remedies, such as death.
