Haidusek's 50th Wedding Anniversary

DEVERS, December 16, 2009 - Charles and Shirley Haidusek are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, December 18, 2009.

Charles E. Haidusek and Shirley D. Meacham were married on December 18, 1959, at the Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, while Charles was on leave from the U.S. Navy. Shirley was working as a stewardess in Dallas at the time.

Bobby Laird was the Best Man, and Linda Brady was the Maid of Honor. They had all graduated together from Dayton High School in 1957.

Charles and Shirley settled in Dayton after his naval service, where they ran a farming business in Devers and raised two children, Lee and Andy.

Lee Haidusek Chambers is now an attorney in Liberty, and Andy Haidusek is a manager for Wal-Mart in Beaumont. Charles and Shirley also have five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. They currently reside in Devers, Texas.
