Getting to Know Republican Candidate Paul Kelly

LIBERTY, December 13, 2009 - In the third of a series of articles on “Getting to Know the Candidates,” i-dineout.com examines the candidacy of Paul Kelly who is seeking the office of County Commissioners Pct. 4 in Dayton as a Republican.

Paul Kelly is seen in the photo during the sign up for Republican Candidates held in Liberty on Saturday, December 5, 2009 only a couple of weeks ago, dressed as one of Santa’s Helpers.

This is not the first time Kelly has sought public office. In May of 2007 Kelly ran unsuccessfully for Dayton ISD Board of Trustees Position No. 2 coming in a distant second in the three person race.

About two years prior to his defeat in his race for the Dayton ISD Board of Trustees Paul Edward Kelly of Dayton was arrested in Harris County on March 29, 2005 for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B Misdemeanor according to the DPS Crime Records Service.

Paul Kelly appears in the photo as he did on the day of his arrest in Harris County. Kelly is now 46 years old.

His case was referred to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution and on March 14, 2006 Paul Edward Kelly was convicted after pleading not guilty.
