| Fire Department Practices with Rescue Tools
LIBERTY, October 10, 2009 – Firemen with the Hull Daisetta Volunteer Fire Department gathered in Liberty on Saturday morning to participated in training exercises utilizing rescue tools.
Rescue tools have come along way in the last few years and now encompass much more than just the “Jaws of Life.” These tools are commonly used at auto accidents to get occupants out of the wreckage after a crash.
They are life saving devices used many times to rescue critically injured people and get them medical treatment in a timely fashion.
Rescue tools are not cheap by any means. The cost of a simple chain and hook assembly can be as much as $60.00 to $70.00 and costs go up from there.
The firemen were able to practice their skills on actual vehicles to simulate real rescues.
