DRT Bluebonnet Brunch & Reenactment November 14th
LIBERTY, November 6, 2009 - The public is cordially invited to attend a Bluebonnet Planting and Membership Brunch on Saturday, November 14th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Gov. Price and Jean Daniel Home on the grounds of the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center to be held by the Franklin Hardin Chapter, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
 |
The Daughters along with the Master Gardeners will be planting bluebonnet seed on the grounds of the complex as part of their program and hope to have a splendid display of color next spring!
Inside the beautiful replica of the Governor’s Mansion, the members of the Franklin Hardin Chapter will be hosting a brunch and attendees will enjoy the DRT “Traveling Trunk” with artifacts from early Republic of Texas history.
There will also be a program in the Daniel Library performed by historians, Eric and Glenda Sandifer in period attire, entitled “A Survivor’s Remarkable Eyewitness Account” which is the compelling story of Susannah Wilkerson Dickinson, a familiar heroine of Republic of Texas history. |
Members will also be on hand to assist any prospective members with the application process for DRT. Please come and join the fun, interesting program on Texas history and brunch! For more information, please call 258-9141.
