Car Hits Wall at City Cemetery LIBERTY, December 29, 2009 - Around 5:45 AM on Tuesday a car traveling south on Bowie Street struck the brick wall at the City Cemetery just north of Grand Ave. in Liberty. Weather appeared to play a role in this accident.
According to Officer Jennifer Bowles of the City of Liberty PD, the driver had just poured water on his windshield to remove frozen precipitation and as he was going down the road his windshield started to freeze up again. About this time the cup he was drinking out of fell in the floor and he reached to pick it up. Then the air bags deployed as his vehicle struck the wall.
Air bags yield a considerable force when deployed and Liberty EMS was called to check the driver for any injuries.
The driver was identified as Bradley Beene age 31 of Liberty. Citations in this accident are pending further investigation.
