Prospective Winegrape Grower Workshop LIBERTY, June 24, 2008 - Economic Times may get so hard that we won't be able to afford to buy our wine at the store. Well, here's a solution. Grow your own grapes and make your own wine. When: Thursday, June 26, 2008 (9am - 3pm) Where: Texas Agrilife Extension Harris County Office 3033 Bear Creek Drive Houston, TX 77084 Cost: $100 (A catered lunch will be provided.) Are you considering planting a commercial winegrape vineyard? Do you currently grow grapes for personal use, but are considering expanding your planting to commercial scale? The prospective winegrape grower workshop was created by the Texas Agrilife Extension Viticulture team in order to educate those individuals considering planting a commercial vineyard. The workshop is a one-day lecture series, tailored to answer the most common questions that any prospective grower may have prior to committing valuable resources toward a commercial vineyard enterprise. This workshop is geared toward anyone who is considering growing grapes in Texas and beyond. If an individual decides to plant a vineyard after participating in this workshop, Texas Agrilife Extension offers many additional programs to teach the “how to” aspects of grape growing.
