Daisetta Workshop on the Sinkhole

DAISETTA, July 1, 2008 – Tuesday evening the Liberty County Commissioners, Daisetta City Council, Hull-Daisetta ISD Board and the Hull-Daisetta VFD met in a workshop at the Hull-Daisetta High School Auditorium to discuss and inform the public concerning the developments that have occurred since the Sinkhole event.

It was a very important meeting to inform the public as to what legal remedies and actions may be necessary for the governmental entities attending the meeting to engage in to insure public safety in the aftermath of the sinkhole. There are so many unanswered questions that need answers so that the community may begin to plan for the future of Daisetta and insure that the residents of this small east Texas town are safe.

We will be reporting more on this at length in the coming days but it is important to get the message out a quickly as possible. The presentation made tonight has been broken into four QuickTime videos and all Liberty County residents are encouraged to view each one. Together the videos run for a total time of about 40 minutes.
