Man Assaulted in Kenefick
KENEFICK, December 25, 2008 - At 12:48 AM on Christmas Eve Liberty County EMS was dispatched to a residence on CR 644 to aid an assault victim.
According to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Hugh Bishop, the victim had been stabbed with a box cutter.
Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputies located a suspect in the assault nearby and identified him as Jose Joaquin Ramos age 28 of Liberty.
It is thought the Ramos and his victim had been mutual combatants.
Liberty County EMS transported the victim to San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown as Life Flight was unable to fly due to weather conditions.
Ramos was taken into custody charged with Assault. Additionally a hold was placed on Ramos for ICE, (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
