Tina PrattHonored by Drexel Society and Cancer Awareness Network

LIBERTY, July 10, 2008 - Tina Pratt. lifetime resident of Liberty County, was recently honored by the Drexel Society and the Cancer Awareness Network.

Mrs. Pratt recieved a grant from the Society as an outstanding role model for the African American community in her fight with cancer. The celebration was held at the Langetree DUCK FARM Eco Center.

The Cancer Awareness Network, an offshoot of the Liberty County Health Awareness Coalition, is one of the primary organizations within Liberty County trying to broaden the awareness of cancer among African American Women.

Alexis Cordova, Liberty County AgriLife Extension Agent, and president of the Network said "Mrs. Pratt is an inspiration to all of us in her continual battle for wellness and her efforts to make cancer information available to the citizens of Liberty County.

The event was attended by Mrs. Pratt, her children and family, and members of the Drexel Society and the Liberty County Cancer Awareness Network.
