Local Artist Selected to Teach at National Decorative Art Conventions

LIBERTY, July 4, 2008 - Local artist Marty Caldwell has been accepted to teach at three “National Decorative Art Conventions” this summer. Starting in July she has three projects for Artist Expo (www.artistexpohouston.com) held in Houston, TX week of July 21st though July 26th. This is the third year for Artist Expo and is open to anyone who would like to take painting classes in a variety of paint mediums and surfaces. On Thursday thru Saturday the Expo opens with shopping for all types of art & craft related vendors from around the country.

Marty has been invited to conduct two classes for an art retreat in Galveston in October.

She recently received word of being accepted to teach in February 2009 in Las Vegas at the Creative Painting Convention, which is really special since Creative Painting was the first convention she attended in 2006. To be accepted to teach in Vegas will be such a thrill.

Last year she was accepted to teach two projects at Artist Expo in Houston. This was the third year of submitting for Las Vegas Creative Painting Convention and it proved to be the charm.

Marty joined the Society of Decorative Painters in 2006 and has served the Decorative Painting Pals of Texas – Humble Chapter as President 2007. She was selected as a one of five Conference Artists for the SDP Convention this past May in Tampa, Florida.

Two leading paint companies Delta Creative Products and Deco Art sponsor Marty by providing all the paint used in her convention classes.

Marty makes her home in Liberty with her husband Tyler. Their son Cody is attending Texas A&M.
