Fire Destroys Home in Westlake

WESTLAKE, September 25, 2008 - On Wednesday night around 11:00 PM a fire started at 467 CR 414 in Dayton in a travel trailer that was occupied by the home owners and their 7 yr old grandson. Due to the hurricane the source of electricity at that time was by generator.

The fire quickly speared to the double wide and single wide manufactured homes that were next to the travel trailer.

The Westlake Volunteer Fire Department, Mont Belvieu Fire Department and the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire.

At press time the cause of this fire is not known.
