Air Conditioner Thief Wounded HARDIN, September 17, 2008 - The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office reported today that an Air Conditioner thieves was shot and wound while attempting to steal an air conditioner at a residence in Hardin. According to Public Information Officer Hugh Bishop with LCSO, Mr. George Burgess was awaked at 1:30 AM to discover a man attempting to steal his air conditioner. Burgess confronted the suspected thief. As the man reached behind his back putting Burgess in fear of his life. Burgess fired two shots from a 22-caliber weapon. The thief was thought to be wounded due to a small amount of blood found at the scene on FM 834 West. The thief fled the scene and still remains at large at this time. The suspected thief’s description is as a white male, with brown hair, White T-Shirt and Dark Jeans. The suspected thief may attempt to get medical attention. If you see anyone fitting this description with an unusual wound you are requested to call the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at 936 33-4500.
