Major Drug Suppliers Arrested DAYTON, July 21, 2008 - On July 17, 2008, a multi-agency investigation culminated in the arrests of two major drug suppliers in the Liberty-Dayton area. The investigation involved officers from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, The Chambers-Liberty Narcotics Task Force, Dayton P.D., and Liberty P.D. A search and arrest warrant was executed at the residence of Glenn Samuels Jr., in the Brookhollow Apartment complex in Dayton. During the execution of the search warrant at the apartment, officers seized approximately eight (8) pounds of marijuana, six (6) ounces cocaine, and approximately seven hundred and fifty (750) dose units of the drug MDMA, also known as “Ecstasy”. Also seized from the residence was $3,114.00. The money was believed to be proceeds from the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics. Liberty County Sheriff Greg Arthur was pleased with the outcome of the investigation. Arthur stated, “Investigating illegal activities that cross different law enforcement jurisdictions can pose some difficulties. We were fortunate that all of the agencies involved worked really well together. Combining resources and personnel led to some good case work, arrests and impressive evidence for court.”
Arrested at the scene were: Glenn Samuels Jr., 25, of Dayton, and Angelique Citizen, 20, of Liberty. Both Samuels and Citizen were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 200-400 grams; Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, 4-200 grams; and Possession of Marijuana, 5-50 pounds. There was also a third suspect arrested at the scene.
