Five Hondurans Found Bound in Five Oaks Residence

CLEVELAND, September 13,2008 - As Ike was approaching, Sgt. Chad Langdon of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department was on patrol in the Five Oaks Subdivision outside Cleveland when he noticed to Honduran Nationals at a residence who looked suspicious.

Langdon investigated and found 5 other Honduran Nationals bound with duct tape being held against their will in the house.

All seven Honduran Nationals were transported to the Liberty County Jail and are being held for ICE.

The two Honduran Nationals were holding the others attempting to extort money from them and to keep them from running off during the hurricane.

Charges and prosecution of the two holding the five Hondurans captive will be a cooperative effort of the District Attorney’s Office and ICE.
