18-Wheeler Clips Motorcycle in Raywood

RAYWOOD, December 29, 2008 - Liberty County EMS was dispatched to the intersection of FM 770 South and US 90 at 7:08 PM on Monday night.

According to investigators an 18-wheeler tanker truck was traveling north on FM 770 South and attempted a right turn to travel east on US 90. In the process the right rear portion of the trailer stuck a Harley Davison Motorcycle as the tanker was making its turn.

No one at the scene could identify the truck and the truck was not located.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Charles Robert Featheree age 49 of Hull.

According to witness at the scene Featheree’s left arm suffered significant injury in the accident and he was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont by ground ambulance.

Featheree was not wearing a helmet.

The Hull Daisetta Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and managed traffic control at the intersection during the investigation and clean-up of this accident.

According to DPS Trooper Kevin Hussey, Featheree had no driver’s license or motorcycle endorsement. He will be receiving a citation for being an improperly licensed driver for the vehicle he was driving.
