Texas Railroad Commission Reports on DeLoach Wells

AUSTIN, December 16, 2008 - A Texas Railroad Commission memorandum obtained by Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch outlines the results of logging operations of the injection wells located on the Debouch property adjacent to the Daisetta Sinkhole.

The logging was done to inspect the integrity of the wells and to determine if there was any absolute information discovered that would either identify one of the wells as the cause of the sinkhole or eliminate the possibility that the wells were the cause.

The memorandum summarizes the results of the logging of the wells.

The tests were inconclusive as to whether or not any well on the DeLoach property was in any way connected to the sinkhole. However, the Texas Railroad Commission has suspended any permits for the injection wells on the site.
