Man Attempts to Burglarized Church on Christmas

LIBERTY, December 28, 2008 – Late in the evening on Christmas Day Department of Public Safety Troopers spotted a suspicious vehicle parked at the Central Baptist Church on US 90 at Layl Drive in Liberty and stopped to investigate.

The hood was up on the vehicle and they found a man using a screwdriver on a door to the church attempting to make entry to the building.

City of Liberty Police Officers was called to the scene to investigate and a key holder to the building was called.

According to Investigator Kenneth Taylor of the City of Liberty Police Department the man was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief to a Church, which by law is a felony.
