Van Crashes into Creek on FM 1409

DAYTON, July 11, 2008 – Thursday around 9:20 pm today a one-vehicle accident occurred on FM 1409 that ended up in with a mini-van in the creek just south of dead mans curve.

According to witnesses, Robert Rawls of Dayton and Bo Tanton of Liberty who were traveling northbound on FM 1409 behind a red van, stated the driver Linda Adams, 49 of Northpark, CR 432, was all over the roadway and every few minutes would turn on her blinker like she was not sure where she was going.

Two passing motorists, Joe Garcia and Antonio Delgado rescued Adams from the van after she crashed into the creek.

When family members arrived her niece stated that Adams had left the house around 5:00 pm today to visit her mother in a Baytown Hospital and was not familiar with the area.

Adams has recently moved here from Nebraska. She also stated she was not suppose to be driving the van belonging to June Petty a sister to Adams.

State Trooper Troy Dyson stated Adams was issued a citation for unsafe speed and other charges may be pending. Trooper Dyson stated that a blood sample would be taken due to Adams admitting to being on prescription drugs.

Adams was taken to Liberty Dayton Hospital by Liberty EMS. Her condition was stable at that time.
