More Record Gas Prices
HOUSTON, June 2, 2008 - More record breaking pump prices for Texas motorists, according to AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.
The statewide average is $3.84 a gallon, a weekly jump of 11 cents. Nationally, the average price climbed 12 cents to a new record of $3.95 a gallon.
"A recent AAA Texas survey revealed that Texans have modified their driving behavior as a result of record high gas prices," said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau. "Consumers indicated that they are more likely to combine errands, reduce overall driving and check tires for proper inflation to achieve maximum fuel economy."
The highest average in Texas can be found in Amarillo at $3.87 a gallon, up 11 cents. The state's cheapest gas is in Corpus Christi at $3.79 a gallon, up six cents.
