FEMA Workers Miss Driveway

LIBERTY, October 7, 2008 - At 9:10 PM on Tuesday a pickup truck missed the driveway on Main Street turning into Thriftee Foods and ran head on into the ditch. The truck received significant undercarriage damage and could not be driven.

There were four Hispanic men in the vehicle that had come to Liberty as contractors for FEMA working for the US Army, installing blue tarps on hurricane damaged roofs in the area.

Investigating Officers with the City of Liberty Police Department learned that none of the men in the truck had a valid driver’s license in any of the 50 states.

The truck was insured. The insurance card was valid from September 23, 2008 until October 23, 2008, a one month policy.

The driver of the truck was identified as Arnulfo L. Bonilla age 39 of Dallas, TX and the group is currently working out of a US Army Encampment near Beaumont.

Bonilla was issued a citation for having No Driver’s License.
