Sporting Clays Tournament Raised Money for “ Friends in Deed” LIBERTY, December 17, 2007 - The Sonny Loftin Memorial Sporting Clays Tournament was held on December 8, 2007 at the Pecan Meadow Sporting Center in Hardin to benefit "Friends in Deed," an organization, which works with the Liberty ISD to meet the needs of children and is comprised of teachers, parents and other interested individuals.
The NSCA tournament attracted 121 shooters from Houston, Bryan, Lufkin, Beaumont and surrounding cities and is sponsored by Liberty Golf Cars and its’ owner Peanut Krenek. The tournament raised $15,000 for Friends in Deed. Krenek said, “It is a special time of year and each child should understand the meaning of Christmas.” Liberty Golf Cars donated a Golf Cart and Committee Persons sold raffle tickets, along with the Sporting Clay Tournament to raise the money for this year’s event. Krenek thanks everyone who was involved in the event and expressed his appreciation for all their hard work.
