Liberty County Democrats File for Primary Election LIBERTY, December 3, 2007 - It was a busy day at Liberty County Democratic Headquarters today as Candidates wishing to run in the upcoming Democratic Party Primary in March filled in to fill out the necessary applications and paperwork to run for office.
Constable Pct. 6 Candidate, John Joslin and Constable Pct. 2 Candidate, Russell Pierce As is the tradition, the Democratic incumbents met on the Courthouse steps and walked across to Democratic Headquarters to file for re-election. Also filing were the two candidates for County Attorney who seek the nomination for the retiring Jack Hartel.
County Commissioner, Todd Fontenot and Sheriff Greg Arthur The following candidates have filed for office in the Democratic Party and will be on the Democratic ballot in the March 2008 Primary as of the close of business today.
District Attorney Mike Little is expected to seek re-election but has not filed along with Constable Pct. 3 Danny Frankum who is also expected to seek re-election but has not yet filed.
Mr. Arlan Foster will seek election for State Representative District 18 and was present at Democratic Party Headquarters here in Liberty this morning to meet the candidates running in our local races.
Liberty County Tax Assessor Collector, Mark McClelland Mike Parrish, Constable pct.2 will not seek re-election in order to pursue a musical career. Liberty County Democratic Party Chairperson Nancy Archer reminds all Precinct Chairs that they must have an application on file with the appropriate local office. The filing deadline is January 2. 2008.
