House Fire on FM 563

LIBERTY, December 26, 2007 - Early on Wednesday the City of Liberty and Hull Daisetta Fire Departments were dispatched to 1192 FM 563 just north of CR 147 to fight a house fire.

According to Liberty Fire Chief Fred Collins, the well-built older home kept the fire deprived of air minimizing the amount of fire his department had to deal with. Although the investigation is in its’ early stages, Collins thought the fire may have started in a Christmas tree inside the home. The tree was a real tree setting on a table.

When firefighters first arrived there was light smoke coming from the house. Fire Departments were notified around 4:50 AM Wednesday morning.

A local pastor on the scene who knew the homeowner, Robin Frazier, stated that Frazier and his wife are early risers and had possibly left the home only a short time before the fire started.

At the time of this report authorities were attempting to locate the homeowners.
