Cleveland Man Dies in Accident on SH 105 VIDEO in QuickTime MOSS HILL, November 28, 2006 - A Cleveland man was killed today in a two-vehicle accident on SH 105 east of Moss Hill, TX.
The accident occurred around 6:30 AM as the occupants of both vehicles were on their way to work.
According to investigating DPS Trooper Sean Cheshire, a Ford Ranger driven by Ritchie Milton Price, Jr. age 25 of Cleveland was traveling eastbound in route to Beaumont, when for an unknown reason it crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a full size Chevy pickup driven by Eddie Paul Lannom age 29 of Saratoga.
The vehicles collided in a near head on collision with severe damage to the front left portion of both vehicles. Ritchie Milton Price, Jr. died at the scene and Justice of the Peace, Phil Fitzgerald conducted an inquest ordering an autopsy be performed in this case. At press time Eddie Lannom remains in critical condition at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont. Two passengers in the Ford Ranger, Michael Lee Spears age 22 of Cleveland and Marcus Wayne Tingle age 24 of Spurger, were transported by Liberty County EMS to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont. One passenger in the Chevy pickup, James Patrick Ellis age 23 of Batson was also transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont. The Hardin Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene early this morning to manage the rescue of the accident victims and assist with traffic control SH 105 was closed to traffic in both directions until about 9:30 AM, a period of three hours during the rescue, investigation and clean up of this accident.
