Garage Fire Damaged Garden Home on North Travis VIDEO in QuickTime

LIBERTY, December 17, 2006 - The City of Liberty Fire Department was summoned to a house fire at the intersection of Regency and North Travis in Liberty early Saturday evening.

The fire was originally dispatched as a car fire. The resident of the home stated they discovered a small fire in the garage and called authorities.

A first arriving MED Unit notified the department that there was a car fire with the car inside the garage and the structure was on fire.

First arriving firefighters discovered that the interior of the garage was fully involved in flames upon arrival. According to Fire Chief Fred Collins, firefighters made an interior attack on the fire attempting to push the fire out of the garage and away from the interior of the home.

About half of the interior of the home was damaged by fire with the other half receiving significant smoke damage, according to Chief Collins.

Luckily no one was injured in this fire.
