Car Crashes into Manufactured Home

DAYTON, December 4, 2005 – Around 7:00 AM on Sunday morning a grandmother and her grandchildren were awakened when a car crashed into their manufactured home. According to the homeowner the crash caused a mirror in the bathroom to fall.

The accident occurred in the 100 block of FM 1413 just south of Highway 90.

DPS Trooper Sean Chesire investigated the accident. According to Trooper Chesire, a red Ford Contour traveling west on CR 4891 disregarded the stop sign at FM 1413 while traveling at a high rate of speed, crossing the roadway, going through the ditch and crashing into a manufactured home.

According to reports the Ford was driven by Francisco Batista age 27 of Channelview. He and his passenger Enrique Salas were not injured in the accident.
