Accident Results in Traffic Snarl on North Main LIBERTY, December 30, 2005 - At 7:05 PM on Friday, a 1993 Ford pickup traveling north on North Main Street near the Swan’s Distribution Center collided with a Black Toyota SUV that crossed into its’ path while making a U-Turn.
The Toyota SUV, driven by Horace Ralph Smith age 77 of Galveston was traveling north on North Main when he realized he was going the wrong way in his attempt to return to Galveston and attempted a U-Turn in the roadway.
Smith was transported to Liberty Dayton Community Hospital for treatment of cuts and scratches suffered in the collision. The driver of the Ford Pickup was Bryan Kelso age 58 of Hardin. He was not injured in the accident.
The roadway was blocked and traffic was halted on North Main for about an hour while this accident was investigated and the vehicle wreckage was cleared. According to City of Liberty Police Investigating Officer Johnny David, Smith will receive a citation for making an Unsafe U-turn.Give us your Feedback about this story! |
