Holiday Traveling Proves Dangerous

HARDIN, November 24, 2005 – Around 10:00 AM on Thanksgiving, an accident involving three vehicles occurred in Hardin in the 11 thousand block of SH 146 North.

A sand colored Hyundai Sonata had stopped behind a gray Chevy Cobalt that was waiting on approaching traffic before attempting a left turn into a private drive.

A gray Buick Century driven by Sandra Wellman age 49 of Pasadena failed to notice the vehicle stopped in the northbound lane and collided with the Hyundai striking it in the rear. The force of the collision knocked the Hyundai into the Chevy Cobalt.

Liberty County EMS responded to the scene and check out the occupants of the vehicles. Luckily no one required transport to the hospital.

The Chevy Cobalt was driven by Oletha Price age 79 of La Port and the Hyundai was driven by Klint Alan Larison age 39 of Pasadena who was in route to Livingston for a Holiday gathering.

According to Trooper Hank Boykin, Wellman received a citation for failure to control speed.
