Six Straight Weeks of Lower Gas Prices HOUSTON, November 18, 2005 - Retail gasoline prices in Texas fell for the sixth straight week and the lower price trend is expected to continue throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to AAA Texas' Weekend Gas Watch. The statewide average price for a gallon of regular self serve is $2.181 a gallon a weekly drop of nine cents. Once again, Beaumont has the highest average on the survey at $2.283 down 11 cents in a week. Corpus Christi has the lowest average at $1.997 a gallon - an 11 cent weekly drop. "With prices falling rapidly in the past month, the question motorists are asking is, 'how low will they go?'" AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau said. While it's impossible to predict an exact figure, it is likely that there will be significant decreases for at least the next few weeks."
