LIBERTY, August 2, 2004 – Running from the police is just never the thing to do. Such was the case on Monday evening around 7:00 PM near the intersection of Louisiana Street and US 90.

According to Corporal Kenneth Taylor of the City of Liberty Police Department, Game Warden Danny Diaz was traveling west on US 90 when he spotted Robert Daniel Alford age 29 of the South Liberty Oilfield walking along the highway. Officers of the City of Liberty Police Department, a DPS Trooper and a nearby Sheriff’s Department Deputy assisted in the foot pursuit.

The man was quickly found hemmed up inside a fenced area west of the Veterinary Clinic on US 90 and was taken into custody by City of Liberty Police.
