Late Night Accident on CR 1333 MOSS BLUFF, December 15, 2003 - Late Sunday evening a one-vehicle accident occurred on CR 1333 in Lake Granada. According to DPS Trooper Nathan Pierce, by the time the accident was reported to authorities, the injured drivers pickup had been up righted by family members and friends and upon arrival had been towed out of the ditch and taken to a residence on CR 1335B. The driver, identified as Jeffrey Lynn Clay of Liberty, was badly injured lying in the ditch. A neighbor realizing the drivers difficulty notified authorities that summoned an ambulance to assist him. According to Trooper Pierce the Chevy Pickup was traveling east on CR 1333 when a dog ran across the roadway and the driver attempting to dodge the dog, lost control, went into a skid and rolled over on its side. Alcohol was present at the accident scene as well a dead dog that was lying in the ditch. The Hull Daisetta Fire Department responded to the scene to set up and manage the landing zone for Life Flight. It was at 11:46 PM that Liberty County EMS arrived at Hyltons Grocery on the corned of FM 563 and CR 133S transferring Mr. Clay to the care of Life Flight for transport to Houstons Hermann Hospital.
