LIBERTY March 30, 2018 ⎯ The release rate at the Livingston Dam continues at 73,500 cubic feet per second (cfs) and the lake remains about 1.5 feet above the normal pool level.
We do not anticipate any increase over the current 73,500 cfs.
The Trinity River is currently at 38.24 feet in Romayor, and the weather service now indicates a crest of 39.1 tomorrow.
The Liberty gauge is at 27.79 and the weather service keeps going back and forth between a crest of 29.2 and 29.6 so we will just have to watch and see what they finally decide.
Moss Bluff is currently at 11.46 with a rise to 15.3 expected by early next week.
The levels noted above will cut off roads into some riverfront subdivisions along the Trinity River. Residents living in the flood plain area around the Trinity River should make certain they have their supplies if they intend to remain in their residences or make plans to stay with friends or relatives outside the flood plain until the water levels recede.
Those planning to leave should do so during daylight hours only and anyone coming to the area for Easter weekend should stay away from the river.
We have also received some calls from folks in the Rye area near Menard Creek regarding the high level of the creek in their area and at this time it appears the creek is close to crest and will fall sharply over the next 24-48 hours.
Will update tomorrow unless something occurs that warrants a sooner update.
